Use of Can and Could with examples in Hindi - RapidEng Learn Spoken English

         

             Hello English learners, Today we will learn use of 'Can and Could'. All doubts related to 'Can and Could' has been cleared in this post. I am going to explain all the uses of 'Can and Could' with examples and in simple language. After reading the post you can easily differentiate the use of 'Can and Could'. 

Use of Can:

 Can का प्रयोग  'power, ability and capacity' को प्रदर्शित करने के लिए किया जाता है | 

  • He can lift the box. - वह डब्बे को उठा सकता है |
  • I can run fast. - मै तेज़ दौड़ सकता हूँ | 
  • I can eat one kilogram apples. - मै एक किलो सेब खा सकता हूँ | 
Can का प्रयोग theoretical possibility दिखाने के लिए किया जाता है | 
  • Everyone can make a mistake. - गलती कोई भी कर सकता है | 
Can का प्रयोग permission लेने या देने के लिए किया जाता है | 
  • You can go now. - अब आप जा सकते है | 
Can 'friendly request' दर्शाता है | 
  • Can I take your car.?- क्या मै आपकी कार ले सकता हूँ ? 

Use of Could:

Could का प्रयोग भूतकाल की 'power, ability and capacity' को प्रदर्शित करने के लिए किया जाता है | Can का Past Tense 'Could' है |
  • I could not come yesterday. - मै कल नहीं आ सका | 
  • They could solve this problem. - वे इस प्रश्न को हल कर सकते थे | 
Could का प्रयोग remote possibility को दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है | 
  • There could be a bomb under the table. - मेज़ के नीचे बम हो सकता है | 
Could 'formal request' दर्शाता है | 
  • Could I talk to Mr. Vivek? - क्या मै विवेक जी से बात कर सकता हूँ ? 

Important note: 

'able to' और 'can/could' दोनों ही capacity(क्षमता) को प्रदर्शित करते है, इसलिए दोनों को एक ही sentence में प्रयोग नहीं किया जा सकता | 
  • I cannot be able to come tomorrow. (Incorrect)
  • I cannot come tomorrow. (Correct)

 Simple Past tense    1. इस वाक्यो से भूतकाल में किसी कार्य का होना या न होना पाया जाता है  या हम इसे सिंपल शब्दों में कह सकते हैं कि ऐसे काम या कार्य जो भूतकाल में समाप्त हो गए हैं | ऐसे वाक्यों में सबसे पहले सब्जेक्ट को रखा जाता है उसके बाद मेन वर्ब की सेकंड फॉर्म को लगाया जाता है 2. इन्ही वाक्यों से पास्ट से सम्बंधित कार्यो का भी पता चलता है देखते है कुछ ऐसे ही वाक्य। जैसे:- १. मोहन बीमार था। २. कल बहुत गर्मी थी। ३. वो एक अच्छी लड़की थी। 3. इस टेंस का प्रयोग पास्ट में किसी काम को करने की आदत का बोध करने के लिए भी किया जाता  हैं। जैसे:- १. वह मुझे हमेसा समझाता था He always advised me. २. मैं कभी वाइन को छूआ नहीं I never touched wine. ३. मैं संडे को घर जाया करता था I used to go home on Sunday or I went home on Sunday 4. कभी कभी भूतकाल में किसी कार्य के जारी रहने का बोध भी इस टेंस के द्वारा किया जाता है  जैसे:- १. जब वह नाचती थी तो हम गाते थे। While she danced, we sang. २. जब वह खेलता तब मैं पत्र लिखती। While he played, I wrote letter. ३. जब बच्चे खेलते, माँ...
